I’m Dana Ann – I am an artist. Creating is my passion.
My art has many means of expression, but I am most passionate about photography, and pottery.
I am inspired by the uncut, natural landscapes, fossils, and flora of the Blackland Prairies of Fannin County, Texas.
Fannin County has been my home for about 18 years. I feel compelled to document my surroundings, and to leave behind a photo record of the changing landscapes.
My photography also informs my pottery. I use the images often for drawing reference, or to document patterns in nature that speak to me.
I love creating one-of-a-kind, decorative pottery. Drawing, stamping, or modifying the surface of pots feels especially rewarding to me.
I am overjoyed to have my first home studio, and to be able to focus my attention now on the work that I feel inspired to do. I am also excited to be able to share my work of pottery, photography and creative writing on this blog.
